HOSANNA SCHOOL MISSION TRIP

We shall be travelling to Kampala in Uganda in August to hold a mission and workshops at the invitation of Hosanna Church. Sixteen members of our fellowship will be going and in addition to the evangelistic mission, we shall be holding sewing, dressmaking and carpentry classes. The team will be taking sewing machines and tools out with them. Other materials needed will be bought locally. In order to raise funds for this endeavour several events are being held in the coming months. Two young men, Tim Stokes and Pat Luckett, are going and they are working hard to raise funds to pay for their tickets, and on 8th May they are holding a Curry & Quiz night. Also on Sunday 17th May Roz and Frank are serving up a French style lunch. Later in the year there will be a BBQ held in Walnut Avenue.

BMS ACTION TEAM

They will be with us for the week 18th-25th May, and will share their experiences of working in Ecuador and during the week will be going with Sue into the local schools.

CHIPPING SODBURY FESTIVAL

will be held during the week 12th - 21st June. This Festival starts with a service in St. John's Church and finishes with Songs of Praise in our church. The theme this year is "The French Connection" and there will be a display on this theme, our link with the French town of Cesson, in our church during the week. On the last Saturday refreshments will be provided in the Hall, and our float will once again be part of the procession.

KINGSGATE MUSIC FESTIVAL

The local Town Council have invited the Churches in Yate and Sodbury to help with this music festival the following weekend, 27th/28th June. We shall be providing refreshments and activities for the children. On the Sunday morning there will be a Praise in the Park style service. In the evening there will be a jazz concert.

HOSANNA SCHOOL

The group who visited the school in November 2006, have written a report with their recommendations. You can read a summary of it here. or the full report here. Both include some of the pictures taken by the group. And a comprehensive photoalbum can be seen here.

In January Our Pastor, Carl Stokes, Norman Fuggle and Maggie Maclean visited Hosanna Church and School, in preparation for the church mission in August 2009. Some photos of the visit are included on the church gallery.

PICTURES and VIDEOS

Our pictures of events and videos are now visible in our Gallery. To see them visit here. Click on the opening photos in the album you want to view. This will open showing thumbnails of all the pictures in the album. Click on these to see the full picture or view the slideshow/video. A message may appear in a yellow bar towards the top of your browser. Click on this and follow the instructions to run ActiveX. (You do not need to register to view the pictures or videos.)

If you wish to view a sideshow in full screen, you will be asked if you wish to download Gallery Remote, click YES and go ahead. It takes a while but once you have it next time it will be quicker. Or just view the slide show and you can change the time delay and the size of the pictures. This is probably quicker and easier.
